The Power of Typing: My Speed Typing Journey

Typing. It may be simple to anyone especially in this modernized world but there are also people like me who's having some difficulties to it. Speed typing is a whole new level compare to the typing itself and it talks about how fast you can type or how many words you can type in a minute (word per minute/wpm).

Me as a child, I really never experienced of having or owning high-end gadgets and computers at home, and maybe this is one of the reason I grew up a little behind when it comes to some computer operations. Fortunately, school is there to offer knowledge about technologies and other related things to it. Also giving us opportunities to learn it by ourselves. Eventually I started to discover and explore its offered efficiencies and benefits. I learned a lot but what I noticed is my typing speed, which I think was left behind.

One of my first move on improving my typing speed is that I was able to familiarize with the placement and order of the letters, symbols and etc. on the keyboard. The QWERTY keypad on the mobile phone which I used often, helped me to be familiar about it.

What helped me the most are some of the speed typing websites where I've learned the proper placement of the fingers, letter groups, number groups, symbol groups and many more. In those websites, I was able to take some speed typing tests for every lesson I've learned that enable me to get used to the set of letters without looking on the keyboard itself.

Constant practice and learning is what we really need to achieve our desirable typing speed. In many cases their work or lifestyle affects their advancements with these things. For some who are not giving much attention to typing, maybe its the time to take action, because no one can really say what advancements will the future give us.

And to YOU, who are much like me when it comes to speed typing, I believe you can do it. Just practice a lot, it really helps. And for me, I will continue on practicing and learning to improve my speed typing.
